 Welcome to the Moshi Bilal website!


Bilal Muslim Mission, Moshi Branch was started in 1999, to bring Islam original to the indigenous people of Kilimanjaro. Through the years the branch has grown leaps and bounds, and today has 5 centers including 3 satellite centers in Kileo, TPC and Korogwe.


Bilal Moshi is committed to spreading the message of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), and assist and strengthen the local shias. Ladies and gents of all age groups are catered for. The center runs 3 nursery schools in Moshi, Kileo and TPC with over 150 children enrolled. Professional teachers ensure that these children get a sound educational, social and religious footing right from the early years of their life.The center in Moshi has boarding facilities for 10 students, mostly teenagers, who go to school in the daytime and learn religion in the evenings. Most of these students are orphans. Religion and tailoring classes are conducted for ladies every afternoon as well. A well stocked library is available for public use, and a muallim is available to answer questions on Shia-ism.


One of the major projects of Bilal Moshi is the Shia Youth Development Project (SYDP). This project aims to economically uplift African Shias by sponsoring them for higher education. There are currently 25 students under this scheme, taking various courses ranging from civil draftsmanship to catering.


All centers under Bilal Moshi observe wiladat and wafat anniversaries of the Holy Masumeen (a.s.). Special lectures and programs are also held in Muharram and Ramadhan to spread the message of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.)All administration and planning is done solely by volunteers, and generous donors and philanthropists fund the various projects and activities.With this brief introduction, we welcome you to our website, and wish you happy surfing!
