RAMADHAN AT BILAL MOSHI
Ramadhan 1428 AH
This year Bilal Muslim Mission-Moshi Branch with its 5 centres and 3 subcentres were very grateful to various donors like Africa Federation, WIPAHS, WF and many other individual donors who sent money for Iftar. For less then 5000$, all the 5 centers and more then 400 people enjoyed Iftar for the whole Month of Mahe Ramadhan.
And as Bilal tradition, holy Quran hifdh and recitation competition Were held and winners were awarded with a small tokens. All the 5 centers had daily Dua programmes and in 3 centers which are in villages this programme was carried whilst Generator power.
The photographs below shows women in Korowe-bilal branch cooking and later women and children enjoying Iftar after a brief Lectures on various Islamic issues and ahlulbyt.


NASIMCO CHAIRMAN VISITS BILAL MOSHI

Mulla Hussain Hirji Walji is a community leader of an international repute and Zakire Hussein and has recited Majalis all over the world and is also the president of Nasimco, visited Bilal Muslim Mission-Moshi Branch.
Husseinbhai visited the main Bilal Madressa in Moshi and SYDP boarding house where African Shia Youths are trained to have vocational skills.
The picture shows Mulla Hussainbhai and Bilal- SYDP Sheikh Hasan Salim. We were also privileged by the visit of Mulyani Fatimbai Dewji of Daressallam. Mulyanibai visited 3 centres of Bilal and gave lectures in Kiswahili to Shia women.
The 2nd picture shows Mulyani Fatimbai and Meenazbai Ladak in the Bilal Muslim Mission-Moshi Branch Nursery School. The third picture shows ladies in TPC-Kikavu who had gathered for Majlis, listening to Mulyani Fatimbai's Majlis.


QURAN COMPETITION AT KILEO BRANCH
During the Holy Month of Ramadhan, Bilal Muslim Mission-Moshi Branch, organized
competition in recitation and Hifdh of Holy Qur'an in 3 of their branches. The
competition were held in Moshi branch, Kileo Branch and the newly opened Korogwe
branch. Both students and adults took part in this holy competition and gifts were
awarded in various categories. The pictures show the Chairman, Muhammad Ladak and
Br.Abdulhussein Kermali visiting the Kileo branch just before the competition to see
the progress of the students there and newly constructed water pump which Has eased
the plight of women who went far to collect the water.


EYE CAMP AT TPC - MKALAMA VILLAGE
On 5th of November 2006, Bilal Muslim Mission, Moshi Branch went to TPC which is a sugar factory at the outskirts of, in a village called
Mkalama which is about 35 kms from Moshi Town, for an eye camp.
Many patients were treated for various eye diseases and were given medicines and others will be given
Spectacles.
The first picture shows, that due heavy rains our car was stuck in the mud and we
had to walk the rest of the way in mud!!
We are very grateful for the donors who sponsored this noble cause and also to the first and second year optometry students, Br.Wajid Parpia, Br. Muhammad Shaban and the Madressa teacher Br.Abdulhussein Kermali who accompanied the Moshi Bilal Chairman.




EYE AND MEDICAL CAMP - KILEO
Bilal Muslim Mission-Moshi Branch carried out Medical and Eye camp in Kileo, a small village at the outskirts of Moshi. A total of 238 patients were screened, including children from 5 years to adults of 98 years. Many were given reading glasses and some were sent to a consultant hospital for cataract and other eye-related surgeries. The 65 patients who were screened for medical problems were treated by Dr Mubarak for conditions including High Blood Pressure, diabetes, intestinal worms etc.
We were accompanied by our Madressa students on this camp, to introduce them to charity work.


EYE CAMP - TPC
Bilal Muslim Mission-Moshi Branch carried out an eye camp in a remote village in Kilimanjaro Region called TPC/Njia panda.
A Christian African lady Optometrist from KCMC hospital accompanied us, along
with a first year optometry student, Brother Muhammad Shaban. The Chairman of Bilal Moshi accompanied the group.
Approximately 100 patients were screened for various conditions like cataract, night blindness, short sightedness etc many were provided with medicine and spectacles. Of the patients who attended, 40% were Muslims and 60% Christians.
